I Waved To The Sea And It Waved Back.....Literally!

Easter Sunday had started well,i turned on my PC for a black screen and got a aromatic burning smell from it for good measure. That had set my mood,i needed to get out with the camera and clear my current mindset.I headed to Overstrand beach to do just that.I was greeted by a rough sea which i thought would ruin the trip at first glance but then seeing it break powerfully over the sea defenses made me change my mind.I set my camera up and got to the bottom of the ramp and was immediately showered by a wave, all over the camera and it certainly woke me up! Luckily the camera was fine after a quick dry off and so i set up precariously close to where the action was. This is certainly my type of photography, something with an element of excitement and the more impending chance of me getting soaked makes it all that bit more fun.Its quite a sight to see nature at its most powerful but also majestic watching the sea batter the promenade. After numerous near misses i captured the pictures you see here and watched my mood change as it got taken out to sea along with the waves.Ive done beach work many times before but the energy today really gives the photo's impact.

Felbrigg Fence Jumper....

Ah Felbrigg Hall, this was the first sunny day of 2013 and i was definitely not gonna waste this opportunity, only it was a Saturday and i had been out the night before on the drink. My plan was simple,id get plenty of coca cola down me to refresh me for the day ahead. All was going well until 10 minutes into my walk around the grounds when suddenly my bladder decided it was full. After frantic searching around,i found a ditch and done my best meercat impression as i kept look out for ramblers.Crisis averted i carried on.My other problem with Felbrigg is there lack of clear paths and after a random cat took great interest in me trying to navigate a boggy stench pit,i found myself in a field which once i was halfway across realized there was no gate the other side.I know what your thinking 'head back the way you came'.The only problem was an elderly couple had thought i knew where i was going and followed me.....suckers! I had got ahead and over the hill so was out of sight.I ended up climbing a barb wire fence hoping that i didn't catch any 'particulars' on the way over.As i stood the other side of the fence this poor couple came over the hill and realized where there 'tour guide' had lead them! I think the man was willing to give it a try but a firm 'im not climbing that!' from the wife soon put an end to that.As they sloped off i couldn't help thinking 'Unlucky losers!' bad i know. The rest went without any hitch and certainly enjoyed the lovely weather and these are my memories of the first nice day of 2013 :)

Happiburgh Hazy Days

Heading to Happiburgh that day was a random, sporadic choice but sometimes there the best ones.I had been due to meet my friend Simon Watson at Dilham (the location of previous capers) but started the day off brilliantly by getting lost on the way there. In all fairness i hadn't actually drove into Dilham before as we'd walked from outside the village in the past. After meeting up with Simon,He'd been told from person X (i leave the name out to spare Simon landing in the proverbial poo) about a lane flooded with daffodils as far as your eyes could see. Both of us had been skeptical considering the conditions which could only be described as arctic would not bode well with flowers in full bloom but still we headed there. In fairness there were lots of daffodils at the place but unless someone had come along in a horticultural rage and chopped all the heads off the plants then they hadn't come out.The person had seen a photo from the previous year and thought it had been recently taken.Well now we were stuck where to go so Simon suggested Happiburgh.I hadnt taken pictures up there before and he'd had luck previous times there with his camera. We really didnt have much to work with that day as the sky was grey and dull and the usual cold snap too.Think we both done well still, just forced us to be more creative with our photography.Certainly a place to revisit on a sunrise/sunset as it has alot of potential for some stunning pictures.

Back With A Blickling Bang!

Its been quite some time since i've posted on here and for that i can only apologize truly.Id visited Blickling hall way back when i first started getting into photography and up until this day it always feels like an unfinished project to truly capture all this place has to offer.I decided to visit for my birthday as a treat but with two slight problems. The first being that my birthday is in March and the second that we've had weather this year that would make even a polar bears nuts cold! I hadn't had high hopes the night before for getting good weather but was greeted to blue skies the next day which brought a smile to my face.As you can see i had blue skies but don't be fooled into thinking it was warm.My face became so numb that it felt i had been laying on it for days.Despite all the cold, this place still shone out to me.My only other gripes were the people across the lake from me who seemed to be communicating using megaphones even tho they were stood right next to each other and the person shouting at his dog constantly with my only thought being 'please drag your owner into the lake!' All in all tho,a nice way to spend my birthday.
