When You Get That Feeling.........Act On It!

As a photographer i'm not one to wait for hours in one place trying to get the perfect conditions,i like to cover alot of ground and make the most of the conditions that are present at that moment.Dont get me wrong,if i think something is about to break then ill stop for a few minutes or take note of interesting spots to return to later too. This approach is very much the same when i do my photography.By that i mean i'm not one of these 24/7 snap shooters,i have times when i'm inspired to do it but also take time away to refill my passion for it.For me,i find your quality of work suffers if you feel obliged to take photos daily to warrant the 'status' of a serious photographer. Its easy to fall into a routine and almost set yourself on autopilot when your taking pictures all the time.I personally follow my gut instincts, feelings and urges to break out the camera. It allows me to act on impulse and make the most of my creative side.I know each person is different with there approach and i'm in no way knocking the more regular snappers. For me tho,you take a small break from photography and when you return, its like you fall back in love with it all over again. The pictures above were taken 'on a feeling' and it provided such a diverse selection starting with the sheep to then be presented with the farming of the land with the end results so much more then i could have expected when i first stepped out the door that day.

Overstrand,Understrand....Photographing Free!

I've been told many times that you cant get good landscape pictures during the day and especially at noon because of the position of the sun making everything look 'stark' but hopefully the pictures you see above go towards quashing that faux pas.Yes,it does become more challenging then having the soft light of a sunrise or sunset with the skies to accompany them but during the day you get these beautiful blue skies with white fluffy clouds that paint a picture all by themselves. These pictures were taken from Overstrand,Norfolk and visits to the beach just ease my mind of everything else going on.The one thing i did notice was that every focal interest seemed to be a magnet for the general public and on a few occasions i just gave up waiting for these blundering idiots to stop faffing around! I'm pleased with what i got here and tried mixing in some close up work to cover all that was on offer today.

Chimneys B&B,North Walsham Room Pics

Like id said in previous blogs, this year i'm trying my hand at a few new areas of photography.Commercial is one of those areas and ive posted pictures id done of the gardens to this Bed and Breakfast and had enjoyed it.Well these are the room pics to go with it now.Its a whole new ballgame when it comes to working in more confined areas and can be very challenging but at the same time when you do get some great shots then it is very satisfying too.Its a great learning curve and hopefully trying out different styles will help improve me as a more balanced photographer. You never stop learning things that can improve your work but with such a diverse range its always fresh and exciting.
